Rylan Clark’s colleague didn’t hesitate in hitting back at the former X Factor star, after he aimed a cheeky swipe at her live on air.

In a recent broadcast of his BBC Radio 2 show, Rylan On Saturday, the Dating Naked UK host chatted with his colleague, Sally Boazman, otherwise known as ‘Sally Traffic’, who intermittently provides traffic reports on the show.

In a playful exchange about an hour in, following one of Sally’s reports, Rylan decided to share his views on her work. He described her most recent report as more “calm and collected”, prompting Sally to probe him about her others.

Rylan said: “Well, that was a lot more calm and collected, that one”, to which Sally replied: “Than what?” He responded: “Than, like, earlier”.

Sally asked: “Was I rubbish?” Jokingly, Rylan said: “You wasn’t rubbish, but you didn’t have a clue what you were going on about.”

Rylan could then be heard cackling with laughter while Sally sarcastically swiped that it was “lovely” working with him. However, her co-star backtracked and tried to lighten the mood, asking if they should have a “Saturday party”.

Sally fired back: “Don’t change the subject!” However, Rylan continued to talk about other things, including how he was standing on his shoe lace, in an apparent effort to avoid the topic.

What followed was a segment in which Sally pulled the TV star’s lace out of his shoe, which Rylan described as “riveting listening”, before joking about their radio show being up for a TRIC Award this year.

It wouldn’t be the first time that the pair have been heard having a playful squabble on air. In February, the pair bickered about their love lives, with Sally questioning the star if he’d “found love yet”.

Once he’d responded that he hadn’t, Rylan asked his co-star the same. But she quizzed him further, asking if he was “still looking”, to which he replied that he was, and again redirected the question back at her.

She responded with “No… ish”, prompting Rylan to ask if she was okay, but Sally followed up with a “Don’t go there!” Afterwards, Sally changed the subject by suggesting he get a pet dog, but he said it’s “not what I’m looking for”.

He added: “You can give love to a dog, but I’m looking for a different type of love. You can’t sit there and ask me if I’ve found love and then… have you found a man?”

Despite his persistence, Sally wasn’t willing to give up any more gossip on air.

Following Rylan’s divorce from Dan Neal in 2021, the popular radio star’s love life has been a source of speculation. It included a rumour about a perceived spark between him and his Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour co-star, Rob Rinder.

Despite this, Rylan previously quashed the rumour and confirmed they’re just good friends. He also told The Sunday Times that they “love each other” in a platonic way.
